Welcome to Field Notes
Most of my writing is carefully developed. I take an idea, sit with it, test it, and shape it into something I hope is genuinely useful.
Field Notes is different.
This is where I write from the middle of the journey…
Observations, deep thoughts, questions, and lessons that emerge while I’m building, succeeding, failing, and trying again.
They aren’t polished frameworks or step-by-step guides. They’re the thoughts I find myself returning to long after the meeting has ended, the laptop has closed, or the walk is over.
Some notes begin with a conversation, offline or online.
Others start with a keen observation or quiet realization that catches me by surprise.
I don’t expect every note to give a neat conclusion.
Sometimes a lesson I write today will take on a different meaning six months from now.
And that’s what makes this journey worthwhile. We don’t just collect answers. We become different people along the way.
So, think of this column as pages from the notebook I keep open while I’m in the ring.
If you’re looking for practical strategies, and deeper teaching, you’ll still find those in my regular publications.
But if you’d like to see the thinking behind the work, the messy middle, and the quieter side of building a business in the margins of a full life, I hope you’ll follow along.
Welcome to Esther’s Field Notes.
