The 6-Step Formula That Made My Course Profitable Long Before Creation
Breaking down the quick, proven steps to go from idea to launch in just two weeks.
From Idea to a Live Course in 14 Days
Two weeks ago, I did something a bit bold.
I turned an idea into a live course in just 14 days. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how it would go. But when I shared the journey in a Facebook community, the response was overwhelming.
People were curious, inspired, and, more than anything, eager to know how I pulled it off.
That’s when it hit me—this process could help so many others.
So, I decided to break down my exact 6-step method. It’s simple, actionable, and something you can replicate, no matter where you’re starting from.
If it helps just one person break through the noise and take action, it’ll be worth every second.
Let’s dive in.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟭: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
First things first—no audience, no sales. If you want to sell anything online, you need an audience. I mostly leverage email marketing, but you can replicate the same process on social media.
I create high-value digital products and offer them for free in existing communities where my ideal clients are.
These freebies provide so much value that dozens of people join my email list every month.
Pro tip: You don’t need a massive following. A small, engaged audience is more powerful than thousands of unengaged followers.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟮: 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
As new subscribers enter my email funnel, I nurture them with a mix of high-value content and relatable stories.
When you do this consistently, your email community starts to know, like, and trust you. They begin to anticipate your emails and trust your recommendations. That’s the goal—and exactly where you want to be before you ever make an offer.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟯: 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮
This is the most critical part. Once I have an idea, I don’t start by creating the product. Instead, I outline the offer details a Google doc—similar to a sales page.
This helps me get super clear on:
• What I’m offering
• Who it’s for
• How I’ll help them
• Where they are now (current pain points)
• Where they want to be (after solving the problem)
• What the total value of the offer and the initial asking price.
Answering these questions ensures I know exactly what I’m delivering, why my audience requires it and how to position it. Getting this clarity upfront saves you from endless tweaking later.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟰. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮
This is where most people go wrong—they dive into course creation without testing the idea first. I always validate my idea before creating anything.
I set a clear time frame where I focus solely on selling the idea using my offer doc. The moment I get the first sale, I know it’s a valid idea. Then I move forward with creating the product while continuing to promote it.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟱. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲
Promotion can feel daunting, but if you’ve consistently provided value, your audience wants to hear from you.
I set a clear deadline for the offer availability and talk about it every day until it closes.
The beauty of email is that I pre-write and schedule all my promotional emails.
This keeps the process running smoothly while I am emotionally detached from its outcome.
And yes, the last day is typically the busiest—people love to wait until the last minute. A little pressure on the final day is necessary.
Once the offer expires, I close it and reopen it later or increase the price. Never use false scarcity.
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟲. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲
Depending on whether it’s a course or workshop, I now build / prepare and deliver it. If it’s a live product, prepare and deliver it.
Getting paid upfront is one of the best motivators to take action.
People are happy to pay for million-dollar homes based on a blueprint—you can absolutely do the same with your online products.
As long as expectations are clear and you’re engaging with your students, they’ll be happy.
Final Thoughts: You Can Do This Too
This 6-step strategy has made every course I’ve launched profitable from day one. And the best part? It’s repeatable. Once you’ve done it once, you can do it again and again.
If you’re feeling stuck, take that first step. Build your audience. Share your idea. Test it before you overthink it. And when you launch, you’ll see just how capable you are.
